Amber Waves of Grain Luncheon - Friday, August 15th @ 12:30pm

Across the land the combines move, gleaning and threshing as a rite of summer. By
autumn the golden grains will be our daily bread. In parallel we move quietly through
our orchards, setting ladders and gathering our luscious fruit crops. Longtime friend
Linda Beech, Kansas State Extension Agent and test cook for the Kansas Wheat

Commission, has shared with us award winning recipes from the heartland of our
America.

Thematic Luncheons & Programs at Hurd Orchards are hosted in our 1800s English Threshing Barn, nestled between a historic Sweet Cherry Orchard. Amy Machamer, our Founder & Owner, precedes each event with a welcome and lighthearted talk on the day’s theme – sharing her insights on our land, farm and how we interpret each theme for our guests.
Each menu is designed to highlight the bounty of each season, presented in farm fashion – creating an outstanding culinary experience.

Find yourself immersed in floral displays, we use fine antique china and silverware, and tables adorned with authentic and unique linens.
