Mid August: Sandwiched between the beginning and the end of summer. We look
about and enjoy all those things suspended somewhere betwixt and between. It is past
the moments of the hard work of spring, and not quite time to concern ourselves with
the fullness of fall harvest. It is now that we relish the simplicity and the singular beauty
of summertime – the sipping of sun tea, a feast of fruits, afternoon luncheon plates
with surprising fresh farm twists, ice box cakes and salads bursting with summer herbs.

Thematic Luncheons & Programs at Hurd Orchards are hosted in our 1800s English Threshing Barn, nestled between a historic Sweet Cherry Orchard. Amy Machamer, our Founder & Owner, precedes each event with a welcome and lighthearted talk on the day’s theme – sharing her insights on our land, farm and how we interpret each theme for our guests.
Each menu is designed to highlight the bounty of each season, presented in farm fashion – creating an outstanding culinary experience.
Find yourself immersed in floral displays, we use fine antique china and silverware, and tables adorned with authentic and unique linens.
